Mongolian strong horses are very faithful companions of nomads

Riding in Mongolia is interesting and exciting. Mongolia is probably the most horse riding nation in the world. There is no other nation so much accompanied by the horse in the world that even children learn horse riding as they walk. To be a friend of Mongolian horse, it is not necessary to be a skilled horseman; both good riders and less experienced riders will find it out Mongolian horses are so easy to deal. The absence of fences and spectacular forest with stunning rock formations and galloping nomads await you.

This is a close encounter with Mongolian horsemen and their horses. And we shall ride together for 6-8 hours each day covering about 20 km/32mile per day. So reasonable fitness levels and bit previous riding experience are recommended.

Day 1

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, transfer from airport to the hotel. After refreshment start city tour from the main Square and see National History Museum, Zaisan Hill-the highest point of UB and Museum of the Mongolian last king. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (D)

Day 2

UB- Kharakhorum: After breakfast drive to Kharakhorum, the former capital of ChinggisKhaan’s Mongolian Empire. Lunch on the way. Arrive at the camp stay overnight. (B/L/D)

Day 3

Kharakhorum: After breakfast will explore ErdeneZuu Monastery. Constructed from the stones of the ruined capital, it was Mongolia’s first Buddhist centre established in 1586 and is now a museum. Have lunch and drive to Orkhon River. Dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 4

Today our horse riding tour will begin. We now head to famous Tuvkhun Monastery. Dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 5

After breakfast travel to Tuvkhun Monastery, located at the peak of remote, wooded mountain.Zanabazar founded the site in 1653 and lived, worked and meditated here for 30 years. Several pilgrimage sites have grown up around the temple and hermit's caves, including one that is said to be Zanabazar's boot imprint. Back to the camp site, dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 6

Today we continue to south from the monastery in the direction of Naimannuur, the “Eight Lakes”
Overnight in tents.

Day 7-9

Enjoy horse riding trips in the area of NaimanNuur, a natural formation of eight lakes situated 2200 metres above the sea level. Nestled in the forested Khangai Mountains.

Day 10

Today is the last horse riding trip. Visit to horse breeding family. Overnight in tents.

Day 11

Drive to Bayangobi camp in Elsentasarkhai – an unusual strip of sand dunes surruonded by grassland. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 12

Drive to Ulaanbaatar. Late afternoon arrive in UB. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 13

The remaining day in UB.City sightseeing and shopping to caschmere and souviner shops. In the evening see the traditional mongolian folk song and dance concert. Farewell dinner.
