What You Can Expect

Day Adventure from Mexico City: Cacahuamilpa Caves, Taxco and Blue Water Holes

Make your way to the departure point in Mexico City by 7am, then board a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan with your group of 15 or less for a 2.5-hour drive to the Cacahuamilpa Caves National Park — one of the largest natural cave systems in the world. Spend 2 hours inside the caves on a guided tour, and marvel at the beautiful stone formations as you walk through the illuminated paths.

Return aboveground after your tour to enjoy a cool drink, then have the opportunity to rest or purchase souvenirs typical of the region before continuing to your next stop. Arrive in Taxco, a colonial silver mining town, just before 1pm and take a tour of the historic downtown area. Step inside the Santa Prisca Cathedral, and see some of the area's traditional silver jewelry.

Enjoy an included lunch, then stretch your legs before heading to some local "Blue Water Holes" where you can swim or just relax in the peaceful natural surroundings. Board the minivan around 6pm for a comfortable 3-hour drive back to Mexico City, where the tour concludes back at the original departure point around 9pm.
