INTRUDUCTION:

Mongolia, this mysterious country is well known to the world for its glorious ancient histroy, unique culture and arts, indigenous species of wildlife, untouched beautiful landscapes of diverse terrain: foresty mountains, hilly steppes, the Gobi Desert and the hospitable nomadic people. This fantastic trip is specially designed to bring you all these unique Mongolian features.

Start from, the Gobi Desert and its wonderful sites: Ongi monastery ruins, Bayanzag the Flaming Cliffs, the Khongor sand dunes and the Yoliin Am.

The next half of the tour takes you to the crystal clear Lake Huvsgul at the beautiful Horidol saridag mountains and the Tsaatan people, picturesque Khorgo-Terkh National Park and the ancient capital at Karakorum.

Landscape and cultural sightseeing blend easily in Mongolia - you will have the chance to visit families of nomads, remote Buddhist monasteries and traditional events, and to take part in horse-riding or guided walking if you wish - there are also endless opportunities for photography. DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:

Day1. Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, city sightseeing:

Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our guide and driver will meet us at the airport and aid with check-in at the central hotel We take a tour of the city, including the Gandan Buddhist Monastery, Museum of Mongolian National History and Genghis Monument on the Sukhbaatar Square. We can see Mongolian traditional concert. Overnight in 2 star hotel

Day2. Fly to South Gobi and Drive to Yol valley.

In the morning we will fly to South Gobi and we will drive to Yol Valley. The Vulture Canyon, which nestles between the beautiful peaks of Gurvansaikhan of the Three Beauties. After arrival at the canyon, we will take 2-hour hike through the canyon and maybe able to see parts of a glacier left over from the winter months. The gorge’s sheer rock walls rise to over 200m in some places and a mountain stream flows along the floor of the gorge. Above us you will be able to see ibex grazing. On the walls of canyon pairs of Lammergeyer nests and it maybe possible to see the rare Wallcreeper at close range. All the canyon is a great place to spot some of the 200 species of birds such as the Altaic Snowcock, the Mongolian desert Finch and the Cinereous Vulture, We will also be surrounded some of the park’s 600 different types of vegetation and plants. On our way in/out of the park we can visit the local Natural History Museum where dinosaur eggs and bones, petrified trees and a snow leopard are on display. Overnight in ger camp

Day3. Drive to Khongor sand dunes

Today we will drive to Khongor sand dunes. At 28 m in height the giant sand dunes stretch lengthwise some 180 kms. Sometimes the area is only several hundred meters wide but can grow to 7-20 kms. We will hike to the top of the sand dunes. Camel riding here. Overnight in ger in the tourist resort

Day4. Drive to Bayanzag, Flaming cliffs

In the morning, we carry on to see the “Flaming Cliffs”, called Bayanzag in Mongolian. The site was first excavated in 1922 by an American explorer Andrew and the area is renowned as a “Dinosaur Cemetery”. Complete dinosaur skeletons, their fossilized eggs and hatchlings are found in their multitudes. The site itself is also stunning as it stands out of the desert with its deeply red coloured sandy rocks and hearty endemic vegetation. Overnight in ger camp

Day5. Drive to Ongi temple

This morning we will drive to Ongi temple. Ongiin Khiid is known as complex of ruins of two monasteries called Barlim Khiid and Khutagt Khiid. There is not much left to see, but there are plenty of interesting ruins to explore and one of the monasteries is rebuilt recently. On the we will visit to nomadic family, taste Mongolian dairy products and gain learn from nomadic life. Overnight in ger in tourist resort

Day6. Drive to Kharkhorin and Erdenezuu monastery

In the morning, we will drive to the Karakorum, the site of the ancient capital of the Great Mongolian Empire. The city served as the Mongolian capital for only 40 years (until when KhubilaiKhaan moved it to what is now Beijing). Most of the city was later destroyed by Chinese soldiers during the second half of 14th century. And the remnants of the city were used to build the ErdeneZuu Monastery in the 16th century.

Upon arrival in Karakorum the first and most obvious landmark is the massive walls of the ErdeneZuu Monastery, which was the first Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. After lunch at local restaurant, we take cultural tour at ErdeneZuu Monastery. It was built in 1586 by the initiative AbtaiSain Khan, on the spot where Kharkhorin had been. The monastery is surrounded by 400x400 m stonewalls with 108 stupas. The stone columns, blocks and sculptures excavated from the ruins of the city show that various building materials were used in the construction of this monastery. At its height, the ErdeneZuu monastery had up to 62 temples, 500 other buildings and gers with about 1000 lamas inside the walls. Now the monastery displays the best of Buddhist architecture and many of religious art works. We will firstly visit this monastery museum, which houses the best of Buddhist architecture and religious art works. Overnight in ger camp

Day7. Drive to Orkhon Waterfall

Today we will drive to Orkhon Waterfall. We will make our way to the waterfall through good gravel and reasonably difficult dirt roads. Registered as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2005, this Orkhon River valley is known as the cradle of the Mongolian civilization holding many of Mongolia’s ancient monuments lie within its basin. And the Orkhon Waterfall marks the halfway point of the Orkhon River, Mongolia’s longest river that runs about 1120kms to the north before it joins the mighty Selenge River. The waterfall, also called UlaanTsutgalan was formed by a series of volcanic eruptions about 20.000 years ago. It cascades from the height of 22 metres and is 10m wide. We will explore this place and although slightly chilly, it is also possible to swim in the plunge pool. Overnight in ger camp

Day8. Drive to Tsenkher Hot spring

After breakfast we will drive to Tsenkher hot spring.Tsenkher, 98oC hot spring,It is possible to have bath in the spring that is very useful for health. Bath would be 40oC. We are possible to ride horses and explore the beautiful nature. Today we will visit to nomad family and taste Mongolian traditional salty tea and dairy products. Overnight in ger camp.

Day9. Drive to Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake and Khorgo Volcanic Mountain

A drive south takes us into the lovely Khangai Mountains, passing through the White Bush Pass and stopping photography as we make our way to stunning Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan, surrounded by volcanoes and home to many species of wild bird. We hike to the Khorgo Volcano and other interesting sites in the park. Overnight in ger camp

Day10. Drive to Zuun lake via Jargalant village.

Today we will drive to Zuun lake via Jargalant village. We will enjoy in beautiful nature. Overnight in ger camp

Day11. Drive to Khuvsgul lake

We will drive to beautiful Huvsgul Lake, second largest freshwater lake in the Central Asia with over 1% of the world’s fresh water reserve. The lake is surrounded by stunning mountains, thick fine forests and lush meadows. Overnight in ger in the tourist resort

Day12. Free day in Khuvsgul lake

Today it is free day. We can explore the lake by horse riding or hiking. Overnight in same ger in the tourist tresort

Day13. Drive to Khutag Undur village

In the morning we will drive to Khutag Unfur village. On the way will enjoy in the beautiful nature. Overnight in ger camp

Day14 Amarbayasgalant monastery

Today we will drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery – one of the three largest Buddhist centre in Mongolia, is located near the Selenge river. The monastery was built 1727-1736 by Zanabazar, the religious and cultural leader. Unlike other monasteries Amarbayasgalant shows great class of style. The overall design is Chinese despite some Mongolian and Tibetan influence. In the early 1900s, around 8000 monks were practiced Buddhist philosophy, astrology and medicine. In 1937, during purges all high ranked monks and religious leader were executed and the monastery was abandoned for 53 years. Overnight in ger camp

Day15. Drive to UB.

in the morning we will drive to UB. Check in the hotel.
